Ditto Amy Vicky, visit the kitchen section of cavycages www.guineapigcages.com/forum/kitchen/Your "human adoption argument" has been brought up many times, also there are loads of other anti - breeding threads, that SHOULD be of interest to you. Sollyrules: It is extremely unlikely that after bredding Coco and Chilli will be able to go back in together, they well most likely fight. Leaving you with 2 sad, lonely boars. Vicky i can understand what you're saying about The women with the sow would just find another boar, fine then let her, it is Georginas choice to get involved. Igf i knew the other person, i certainly would try to dissuade her from breeding, but no I wouldn't yell at her, as thats helps no one, sorry if you think I have been yelling at you

Will everyone stop fighting! Nobody here is going to change my mind and Vicky and I have made it clear why I would love Coco's babies more than a normal guinea pig. Im certainly not ging to ask the other lady not to breed anymore as it is how she makes money!Coco and Chilli would be fine together again, Ive asked many experts and they agree it would be OK however I still have dooubs on that.

You are right to have doubts about the boys being able to go back in together as it is VERY unlikely they well. Which experts told you this?!
I understand that you can't really ask the lady to stop breeding, though it is very unlikely it is the way she makes money, probably mroe of a hobby!?

Coco loves Chilli to much to go evil on him, see even if you pick one up they go mad cus they never have been apart.

Georgina that statement to be honest really doesn't make sense for guinea pigs. They don't "love" in the same sense humans do. Their natural instincts will take over from any "love" they feel. Anyway, what happened to all the things you said about Coco being mean to Chilli!? Males will not be happy to welcome back another male, after a prolonged seperation period, especially if they have been with a female

I agree with Molly here. After the boys have been separated, they'll need to be re-introduced all over again. And with this comes the possibility that maybe they won't get along. So then, you'll have to have three cages; one for the babies, one for one pig, and one for the other. And what if the babies start to fight? Then you'll end up with a lot of single pigs.
It just doesn't seem practical if the boys you already have aren't getting along very well.
Also, you say that breeding is how the lady makes money. But aren't the babies going to stay with her, and you? Surely this doesn't get her any income.

bobbysgirl and masher: i was not saying that you would ever breed guinea pigs. i was simply applying your point of view to another subject. imagine how you would feel, if you decided to have a child and someone came up to you and told you everything that you are saying to georgina? you wouldnt appreciate it either. I was not making fun or being sarcastic towards children in foster homes or adoption agencies, I was simply making a point. Since you believe so strongly about not breeding guinea pigs, I think you should be able to apply that same belief to every single aspect of your life.

Thanks Vicky!! Molly,amy- Coco is just dominant compared to Chilli, and, im pretty sure theyll go back together, and if youve never bred guinea pigs how would you know apart from getting info from other people! Its no impracticle and your not changing my mind.NOT, ok, get it? And if you feel so strongly why dont you do more about it?!Maybe you should make a whole website on why not to breed guineas! You seem to nkow enough! Im not being rude im just saying.

Georgina that post was rather contradictarory You first said you wanted us to stop trying to make you stop breeding, then you said i should make an anti - breeding website?! Huh? It IS impracticl i'm afraid and I'm sure you'll soon come to realise it, i know it because i have been old by many ( yes Many, not just a few, alot!) people of their experiences. MAles generally will fight with each other even if they can only Smell a female. From your post on Vicky's forum about this subject, you do seem to be worrying about it and thinking of it a little, which is good

The human population is over populated, if you walk down town theres thousands of people, 24/7. Think how many people there are and think every second someone is born and every three second's someone dies so the world is overpopulated, with a guinea pig everysecond about 6 guinea pigs are born and everysecond about 28 die. Guinea pig's are smaller then humans so get it right and the overpopulation is about equivilant.
