Georgina, I'm sorry but your post doesn't make sense. If the guinea pig population is smaller, how can 28 die every second? The numbers of guinea pigs are not dwindling, they are growing, hence the overpopulation.
Please can we get back to the subject - are you definitely going to breed Coco now, Georgina? Have you shown your mum the Cavy Spirit links, and looked in the Kitchen part of the Cavy Cages forum?

Georgina, why would Chilli be the one to live with the babies? Don't you think Coco would get lonely? It's flawed logic; Chilli may not get along with the babies. Also, I believe you said Coco still had greasy fur - have you been to the vet's about that yet? I said there was a possibility it might be a fungal infection - wouldn't it be best to sort out Coco's health before even considering breeding him??

Well, I'll consolt my mum on that amy! I hope its just nothing though. Well its gonna be one or the other getting lonely and Coco would probably be bossy to the babies where elst Chilli wouldnt.

Why do you think that Georgina?! I'm sorry to say this but I think that flawed "favouritism logic!"

Have you realised the people against breeding have provided their opinions AND proof and the people who aren't against breeding just provide their opinions?!

Yea, and have you realised that without some measure of breeding (in the past) that we wouldn't even have guinea pigs? Or dogs or cats or rabbits or any domesticated pets for that matter.

YOU are NOT going to CHANGE my mind!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Vicky you are right, and if everyone stopped breeding eventually it would wipe out the population!

Exactly. If no one ever bred guinea pigs again, eventually all the piggies you have die of old age. So you go to a shelter to get some more, and years later, those piggies get old too. If everyone did this over and over again, eventually there would be absolutely no piggies in the world.

Erm, there's already too many pigs in the world - they're not exactly going to be become extinct in a hurry. It sounds like you're avoiding the issue - Georgina choosing not to breed Coco won't make a big impact on the future stability of cavies in the world.
